The Accountability Cycle begins with the promises the organisation makes to its customers on the statement it makes about it intentions. In this connection, the Service Charters cover the promises of service standards, with the Statement of Intent or Strategic Framework details the intention of the organization.

The promises and intentions of organizations generate expectations in the stakeholders and general public. A key part of accountability is reporting on those intentions in the Annual Reports. From time-to-time our democracy requires that ministers and governors are changed or reinstated. On these occasions, the Group is required to prepare Briefing Papers for guide incoming officials.

From time to time it becomes necessary for Government to consult on various issues. On these occasions, it is good practice to circulate Consultation Documents to ensure that community-wide input is obtained or assumptions made are verified.

Besides the performance of the organization, stakeholders are interested in operations and financials. For the DGO, these are present in our Corporate Reports, while our customers want Information on our products and services. In addition, we offer detailed other information and statistics about our organisation through Magazines and Newsletters. As authorised printers, we public the Virgin Islands Gazette, the official newspaper of the Government of the Virgin Islands.

Our customers are interested in and entitled to examine our Research Documents and others such as Reports and Reviews as they are declassified or cleared.

In our daily operations we generate data related to vital events, crime, justice, disasters, public finance, immigrants, traffic accidents and identity particulars. Our customers are interested in these data, and we respond by providing Statistics in these areas.
