High Court Registry The British Virgin Islands is part of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, which is a function of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. The High Court Office administers the High Court and Court of Appeals. In addition, the Office is responsible for admiralty matters, judicial programmes and policies, regulation and enforcement, and registration of Notaries Public and Commissioners of Oaths. Magistrate's Court The Magistrate's Court hears summary matters and conducts preliminary inquiries into indictable offences. In addition, the Magistrate's Court is responsible for enforcement of Court Orders; property tax and liquor license hearings; and coronor's inquests.
