The Department of Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources, together with its Training Division, is responsible for managing and developing the human resources of the Government. The Department administers Public Service support services, such as benefits, pensions, and employee relations, and also spearheads strategic and succession planning in the Public Service.

Office of the Auditor General

The Auditor General is responsible for auditing Government's financial accounts and proceedures, as well as those of public agencies. The Office of the Auditor General performs value-for-money audits, prepares audit reports, and provides advisory services to the Public Accounts Committee.

Office of the House of Assembly

The Office of the Clerk of the House of Assembly administers the House within prescribed parliamentary functions.

 

Attorney General's Chambers

The Attorney General's Chambers provides legal advisory serices for the Government, drafts laws, leads law reform, prosecutes criminal cases, and defends Government in civil matters.

Civil Registry and Passport Office

The Civil Registry is responsible for registering births, deaths, marriages and deeds. The Passport Office issues passports and provides citizenship and visa services.

 

Governor's Office

The Governor's Office provides support to His Excellency, the Governor, in the exercise of his constitutional responsibilities. The Governor's Private Secretary is the head of the department.

Law Reform Commission

The Law Reform Commission is a division under the Attorney General's Chambers. Its function is to study and keep under constant review the statutes and other laws of the Virgin Islands with a view to making recommendations for their improvement, modernisation and reform.

Training Division

The Training Division provides appropriate training and development for all civil servants, empowering them to deliver effective and efficient services to the Public.
